Since 2012, the CMA CGM Group, third worldwide container shipping Group, has implemented proactive actions in favor of professional equality between women and men.
The CMA CGM Group, although part of supposedly male-dominated industry, has 41% female staff members among its 18,000 employees in the world.
The CMA CGM Group has already implemented numerous actions; at the Head-Office for example, women from the company meet fortnightly during dedicated lunches in order to exchange ideas and build future actions for gender equality. These gatherings also strengthen the ties between the participantss.
According to Tanya Saadé Zeenny, Secretary General of the CMA CGM Group, and initiator of these proactive actions: “ We wish to go even further in 2014. The Group will focus its resources on career building. Indeed, dedicated training sessions created to increase the role of women within the company have already been implemented and have met considerable success. These training sessions have been deployed globally and are now a part of the Group’s overall training policy. ”
Tanya Saadé Zeenny adds: ” CMA CGM, a family group with strong human values, fully supports the UN’s 2014 theme and is committed to this course of action. For CMA CGM, equality between men and women means progress for all. “
