Three and a half hours and 96 TEUs of space were required to load the Comanche onboard the CMA CGM Quartz. It will arrive in Sydney on December 7th.
The CMA CGM Italy team, as well as the Special Cargo and the NEMO teams were all there to manage this exceptional loading that took place in Genoa on October 6th.
The Comanche is the longest racing yacht made of carbon. This 30 ton mono-hull has a mas weighing 2,300 kg with a length of 45 meters and a spinnaker of 1,000 square meters, (sail hoisted at the front of a sailing ship), making it the fastest 100 feet long sailboat in the world.
A regular participant in the renowned 1,170 km Sydney-Hobart yacht race across the Tasman Sea, the Comanche will travel via Malta, Colombo, India, Port Kelang and Singapore, before it arrives in Australia on the NEMO service (North Europe Med Oceania). It is the fastest direct service linking Europe to Australia.
The CMA CGM Group often transports fragile shipments. A dedicated team of experts accommodate bespoke solutions to transport XXL shipments such as cars, yachts, as well as heavier equipment such as turbines, engines and factory components!
